European apples and kiwis are making a mark in Indonesia for their taste, safety, and sustainable origins. Grown in Poland and Greece, these fruits are featured in the EU-funded Garden of Europe campaign, which highlights why they are considered among the best in the world.
The uniqueness of European apples and kiwis comes from generations of cultivation expertise, excellent soil and climate conditions, and a commitment to sustainable farming. Farmers across Europe maintain biodiversity, apply eco-friendly plant protection methods, and reduce chemical inputs in line with EU Green Deal goals. These practices ensure fruits that are healthy, safe, and full of natural flavor.
Poland, the EU’s apple hub, produced more than 3.5 million tonnes in 2024/2025, offering popular varieties like Gala, Golden Delicious, Red Jonaprince, and Idared. Greece, on the other hand, has become Europe’s top kiwi exporter, supplying Hayward kiwis prized for their juicy green flesh, refreshing taste, and reliable shelf life.
European apples can be enjoyed from August to April, with peak exports in October. Kiwis are available from November through May, making them accessible to Indonesian homes during much of the year.
